Northwest Vintage Guitars brings you a legendary blast from the past in this 1977 Yamaha SG700.   The SG line was quickly dubbed the "Les Paul Killer."  And the SG700 model would be an upgrade to a Les Paul of the day to most folks.   This arrived with a broken headstock so we entrusted the services of our local legend luthier to repair the injury.  It's a tight glue joint that's rock solid and isn't going anywhere.

The one piece Mahogany neck mates to a Mahogany body and is topped with a rich Maple top.  The grain really pops and the dark Sunburst is a beautiful compliment.  The pickups are the Yamaha GII pickups and they are clear and articulate with a great range and depth.  6.83 ohms at the neck, 6.74 at the bridge.  Very responsive and dynamic.  The neck is straight and the truss rod works as it should.  You get the push pull tone pots to tap the coils of the humbuckers, and all the original controls work flawlessly.

The medium C neck profile measures .82"-.97" thick at the first and twelfth frets respectively.  The nut is 1.72" and there is very little wear on the freshly polished frets.  She plays cleanly and clearly up and down the fretboard with no unwarranted buzzing or dead spots.  The neck is straight, the truss rod turns in both directions and is currently adjusted for optimum playability.  Comes safely packed in the padded gig bag in the photos.  9.2 lbs.
