Cheetah Drive - Overdrive Pedal
The Cheetah Drive is a handwired transparent overdrive inspired by the Greer Lightspeed and Greer Southland circuits, designed to deliver dynamic touch response, clarity, and versatile gain shaping.
This pedal excels as either a clean boost, edge-of-breakup drive, or a more saturated overdrive depending on the clipping mode selected. The onboard toggle switch allows you to switch between an open, transparent Lightspeed-style voicing and a higher gain Southland-style mode with added hard clipping diodes for additional saturation and compression.
In Lightspeed mode, the pedal remains highly articulate and amp-like with excellent note clarity. Switching to Southland mode introduces additional gain and harmonic texture for thicker overdriven tones. Due to the added clipping stage, the hard clipping mode includes a slight volume drop compared to the more open setting.
Controls:
• Volume – Adjust overall output level
• Drive – Controls gain and saturation
• Tone – Shapes overall EQ and brightness
• Clipping Switch – Up position engages hard clipping diodes (Southland-style mode), down position removes clipping diodes for a more open Lightspeed-style response
Additional Features:
• Soft-touch relay true bypass switching
• Standard 9V DC power supply operation
• Hand built in Erie, PA
The Cheetah Drive is a flexible low-to-medium gain overdrive that works equally well as a boost, always-on tone enhancer, or dynamic standalone drive pedal.
