Hard to find Yamaha NS-10M Studio monitors.
If you want NS-10Ms for studio use and mixing these are the most desirable version.
The Studio version is designed to be horizontal (though they can still be used vertical).
Compare to the original NS-10M the Studio version has the following improvements:
- Binding Post Connectors
- Nominal input increased to 50W (the original NS-10M was 25W),
- Maximum input increased to 120W (the original was 60W)
- Extended bass down to 60Hz (the original was 85Hz)
- Improved tweeter design (no need for the "tissue")
- New crossover circuit was adjusted to give more load to the mid-bass driver
- Sturdier overall build
- No grills or holes for grills
* I took the pics vertical because it's easier to frame.
Speakers are in great overall condition. There is wear to the cabinets from use over the years, especially to the bottoms. Drivers are clean and sound exactly like they should. Look at the woofers, they are actually white! No yellowing, no staining, etc.
I have had a lot of NS-10Ms over the years and this was the best sounding pair which is why I kept them. I don't mix loud (especially on NS10s) so these have been babied.
