For sale is a Fender American Stratocaster dating to late 1978 or early 1979, based on serial number information and period-correct features. This is a late-’70s U.S.-made Strat that has been played for decades and shows honest wear throughout.

The Olympic White finish has naturally aged to a creamy yellow and displays checking, edge wear, dings, and several cigarette burns, most notably along the body edges. All wear is consistent with long-term use and age; nothing has been artificially relic'd.

In 2022, the guitar received a full professional refret and PLEK setup at Tone Shop Guitars (Addison, TX). At the time, it was optimized for .010 gauge strings. I currently run .008s due to arthritis, and the neck remains smooth and consistent across all frets, with excellent playability.

The guitar is fitted with vintage-style slotted tuners. One tuner (A-string) has a partially broken slot on the housing; this was how I acquired the guitar. At some point in its 45-year history, a previous owner installed different tuners, leaving visible mounting holes and marks on the back of the headstock (see photos). These are purely cosmetic and have no impact on tuning stability or structural integrity.

Body weight is approximately 9.7–9.8 lbs, consistent with many late-1970s Stratocasters. The guitar has a resonant tone commonly associated with well-played late-’70s Fender Stratocasters.

Comes with a generic tweed hardshell case and a Tone Shop service card confirming the guitar was PLEK’d.
