Boss MD-2 Mega Distortion, built in 2003 💥
An orange wrecking ball is looking for a new target. The MD-2 delivers plenty of gain, plenty of low end and enough punch to briefly send fragile jazz souls flying out of the room.
Controls: Level, Tone, Bottom, Dist and Gain Boost – ranging from ‘properly distorted’ to Mass Destruction. Musically speaking, of course. Probably. 😇
Sound-wise: Nu Metal, Alternative Metal, Hardcore, Drop-D, early 2000s riff walls. Boss itself describes it as a distortion pedal for extreme music with massive low-end.
Spooky Fun Fact: There are 25 years between the first Boss DS-1 from 1978 and this MD-2 from 2003. There are 23 years between 2003 and 2026. Almost the same amount of time. So vintage isn’t just brown and crackly anymore – sometimes it’s orange and takes a back seat. 👻
Condition: second-hand, works as it should, typically robust for a Boss.
