The 2016 Gibson SJ-200 Standard is a "Super Jumbo" acoustic-electric guitar featuring a solid Sitka spruce top, flamed maple back/sides, and a maple neck. It boasts a 25.5" scale length, rosewood fretboard with mother-of-pearl crown inlays, and an L.R. Baggs Anthem pickup system. Known as the "King of the Flat-tops," this 2016 model includes gold Grover Rotomatic tuners and the iconic moustache bridge.

The SJ-200 has been a favorite amongst Gibson fans since its release in 1937, and continues to be an unmatched standard. This 2016 edition model features a full host of improvements aimed at today's player including an upgraded pickup system from L.R.Baggs, and 2016 truss rod cover, an improved fingerboard, an enhanced finish and a premium set-up incorporating Plek technology.

Quality Tonewoods

The Gibson SJ-200 Standard Electric/Acoustic Guitar features a Sitka Spruce top with an all flamed maple body. This combination of stunning tonewoods offers warmth, sustain and resonance, along with a powerful acoustic projection. Featuring a radiused top and scalloped bracing, players can achieve enhanced projection and resonance. With its Super Jumbo body shape, the SJ-200 delivers an excellent low end, and a very loud and bright tone.

Neck & Fingerboard

For a comfortable performance the SJ-200 is equipped with a new improved fingerboard edge, which is softened to fit the contour of the players hand for added comfort and fluid hand flexibility. The maple neck is attached using a compound dovetail joint and provides a natural resonance across the whole guitar.

Upgraded Electronics

Brand new for 2016, the SJ-200 features the L.R. Baggs Anthem pickup. This unique pickup utilizes a small microphone that sits just below the soundhole, ensuring you get the best possible sound out of your guitar, making it sound just as good amplified as it does purely acoustic. Achieving the perfect volume is easy with its soundhole-mounted rotary controls for volume, phase and mic level. This feather-weight preamp also features a multi-segment battery check indicator, and offers up to 170 hours of battery life with a 9 Volt battery.
