Check the video -- this thing has a wide range of distortion tones. It's in great shape -- it arrived semi-relic'ed, so that's how you'll receive it. I really like the guy, but just need fewer distortion pedals hanging around. Get it, play it, make noise.
I will say: let this box warm up for a few minutes before you play. It can exhibit some noise when played right at first, but that goes away after it gets warm. It's always been like this, so I do think it's a by-product of the topology, not a defect. But I don't want you to have any surprises.
From the builder:
The Catalina is a transparent drive (similar to the OCD v.3) bumped up by a crackle-ok boost (similar to the SHO) for a super versatile palette of boutique gain. Add extra headroom with a switch to bump up the voltage to 18V.
Hand-wired in Panama City, Florida.
9V Boss- standard center negative. True bypass.
