Here is a beautiful one of a kind 6 string Jazz Bass from the renowned Curbow shop In Morganton, GA. It was built by Doug Somervell in 2005 for bassist Nashid Abdul-Khaliq, and bears the name "Custom Nashid Jazz Bass" inscribed on the foil on the control cavity cover. The bass has what appears to be a Rock Maple body, topped with a gorgeous Flame Maple top. Doug advised me that the neck is "Rockwood Light", using Maple laminations without the Phenolic impregnation of the usual Rockwood neck used on many Curbows. It is still extremely stable and solid. Electronics include the Bartolini NTMB 18v system, with original Bart quads that can be switched between P, full quad, and reverse P. I have owned many basses, and this is one of the best sounding I have ever come across. The bridge and tuners are Hipshots. The bass is in very good shape overall, but does have a few dings that I have tried to show in the pics. Since I acquired it in 2009, it has been kept in a temperature/humidity controlled room with the rest of my collection. The bass ships in a hardshell TKL case, which shows some wear but is still serviceable.
