A great playing and sounding openback tenor banjo! Made by Vega in Boston, Mass. in 1925 (going by the serial number database on Deering's site, who now owns Vega). It's in fabulous condition for a 100 year old banjo. There are a few scratches on the headstock's veneer some light marks here and there and a tarnish on the metal parts. The head and tailpiece are not original to the instrument. We gave this a setup and put on some fresh strings (CGDA). It has a nice tone and good projection and can get rather loud, when pushed. This is why the style-N is as popular as it is. It has a rolled brass tone ring. The original friction tuners work as they should. The banjo is in very good condition and comes with a hard case.
