Here for sale we have an Epiphone Limited Edition 1959 Les Paul Standard in Aged Dark Burst finish. Made in China in 2022, this guitar was made in collaboration with the Gibson custom shop as a recreation of the legendary '59 Les Paul. Naturally, a set-neck construction is featured, and comprises a Mahogany body with Carved Maple cap and 'AAA' Flame Maple veneer, Mahogany neck and 22 fret Laurel fingerboard. Nickel hardware is fitted including an Epiphone LockTone StopBar tailpiece, Epiphone LockTone ABR-1 bridge and Axesrus Double Deluxe tuning machines. A pair of Gibson humbucking pickups are fitted, with a BurstBucker 2 in the neck and BurstBucker 3 in the bridge. These are wired to a 3-way toggle switch and independent volume & tone controls.

The Mahogany neck plays very well, with the '50s Vintage profile filling the hand nicely, as would be expected from a '59 Les Paul. Whilst the profile is certainly substantial, it remains slim enough for articulate playing, and with the Satin finish to the rear having worn to a slick gloss, feels plenty fast enough for lead lines and solos. Traditional appointments and specifications such as the 12" fingerboard radius go a long way to capturing the spirit and vibe of the highly sought after '59 Les Pauls, whilst the Medium Jumbo frets add a level of modern playability for enhanced vibrato and string bending techniques. 

The pair of Gibson BurstBucker pickups installed in this guitar deliver classic Les Paul tones, with plenty of warmth and character. The BurstBucker pickups were designed by Gibson to capture the nuance and magic of the original PAF pickups, and make use of unbalanced coils with no wax potting to provide a more open and airy tone than most modern pickups. The neck position is particularly warm and creamy, delivering beautiful solo and lead tones with plenty of power to push you to the front of the mix. The BB3 in the bridge is hotter, and drives the front end of an amp into a thick, saturated distortion with ease. The controls use CTS pots with traditional '50s wiring and Mallory capacitors, allowing for comprehensive control of your tone in an authentic and faithful package.

Aesthetic Condition:

Headstock: Overall excellent condition. Very light scratching is present to the front face of the headstock, these can be seen at close scrutiny under direct light.

Neck: Overall excellent condition. The Satin finish to the rear of the neck has been lightly polished to a Gloss texture through past use.

Body: Overall excellent condition. The Satin finish in high contact areas has been lightly polished to a Gloss texture through past use, this is most apparent to the front face bass side lower bout edge.

Condition of Frets:

The frets demonstrate light signs of use, not affecting playability. There is considerable material remaining for any fret work the new owner may wish to perform.

Current Set Up:

Truss Rod: Overall very good condition. Light to mild tarnishing of the finish is present to the bridge and pickup covers, this is common with regular past use.

Hardware: Overall very good condition. A previous owner has replaced the original tuning machines with a set of Axesrus Double Deluxe tuning machines, the original tuning machines are not included. Light to mild tarnishing of the finish is present to the bridge and pickup covers, this is common with regular past use.

Structural: No concerns or issues to note.

Height of the string from the 12th Fret-1.5mm - Bass 2mm

Epiphone hard case.

Overall very good condition and fully functional. Light marking and ripping of the tolex is present to the exterior of the case. Discolouration is present to the interior of the case.
