The Ludwig Standard series was made from the same 3-ply shells as their professional series of drums at the Ludwig factory in the 1970s! They also have an early version of the granitone interior. The lugs and hardware are very lightweight compared to the classic style lugs and hardware making this snare very lightweight and gig friendly! This snare was the predecessor to the "jazz-fest" snare but with different lugs!
