Here's a lovely 1920's Albert system clarinet in Bb LP, marked G.L. Otterall of Paris. This was a stencil name, during the 20's and 30's, for instruments by various manufacturers destined for the US market. in this case, my guesstimate would be Couesnon, Martin Freres or Thibouville Freres . In fact, if you compare these pics to the Henri Farny Albert system that I also have for sale, the keywork is strikingly similar! The instrument is made of grenadilla wood with nickel alloy keys, posts and rings, and a bore of .582". All pieces are in great shape with no significant repairs. Great instrument for Trad Jazz, various ethnic folk musics, or period classical!
It was just overhauled: disassembled, soaked in oil, the mechanism swedged and countersunk, body, keys, rings, and posts buffed, white leather pads and corks installed. This rare clarinet is in good shape for its years and plays with a big, open tone and good intonation. Comes with period case (probably original) in clean, solid condition.
