The Martin HD-28 Standard 1933 Ambertone is a modern homage to a true acoustic icon, built for players who demand rich, resonant tone and classic dreadnought power. Its solid spruce top and East Indian rosewood back and sides, paired with Forward-Shifted X-Bracing and GE-scalloped construction, produce a voice that balances deep, projecting lows with sparkling trebles and complex overtones. From the first strum, this guitar delivers the tonal clarity and projection that have made the HD-28 a staple across genres for nearly a century, whether you’re recording, performing, or simply exploring its expressive range at home.

Every detail of the HD-28 Standard reflects Martin’s dedication to craftsmanship and playability. The satin-finished GE Modified Low Oval neck, with a high-performance taper and 25.4” scale, makes complex chords and single-note runs effortless, while the ebony fingerboard with abalone diamond and square inlays adds a touch of vintage elegance. Antique white binding, a style-28 multi-stripe rosette, and a GE Modern Belly bridge with bone pins and a compensated saddle provide both visual refinement and precise intonation, ensuring that this guitar performs as beautifully as it looks.

Updated for 2025, Martin’s Standard Series brings subtle refinements to tone and comfort. A slightly thinner fingerboard, reimagined neck profile, and refined bridge and heel enhance playability without sacrificing the bold, articulate tone that defines this model. With its 1933 Ambertone gloss finish, nickel open-gear tuners with butterbean knobs, and hardshell case included, the HD-28 Standard is ready to inspire the next generation of players while honoring a legacy of nearly a century of acoustic excellence.
