Here for sale we have a PRS SE DGT in Gold Top finish. The DGT is David Grissom's signature model. Grissom is best known for his work with John Mellencamp, and has used PRS guitars throughout his career, being most associated with a modified McCarty Trem. Indeed, David spent 20 years working with Paul, consulting & collaborating to improve PRS guitars from a touring & session perspective. In 2007 this culminated in the DGT core model, based on the McCarty platform. In 2023 the model came to the SE line, making the DGT more accessible. 

Made in Indonesia in 2023, this guitar features a set-neck construction comprising a Mahogany body with Maple top, Mahogany neck and 22 fret Rosewood fingerboard, inlaid with moons. Nickel hardware is fitted including a PRS Patented 6-Point Tremolo bridge & PRS-Designed sealed tuning machines. A pair of PRS DGT 'S' passive humbucking pickups are installed, and are wired to a 3-way toggle switch, bridge volume, neck volume & master tone controls, with a master push/pull coil split on the tone control. 

The Mahogany neck plays very well, with the DGT profile filling the hand nicely for a substantial & vintage-inspired playing experience across the register. Paired with the Rosewood fingerboard & PRS' traditional 10" radius, the neck is well equipped for bluesy licks, chunky chords & vintage vibes. The double cutaway body design is complimented well by the generous belly contour & 'Shallow Violin Carve' top, and with the customary PRS sculpted lower horn comfort & practicality is assured in any playing position. 

The pair of PRS DGT 'S' passive humbucking pickups are vintage voiced, and deliver sweet & warm tones with the power & grit to drive your amp into a saturated, suitably vintage-inspired overdrive. The neck position is warm & round, and works very well for lead lines & solos. The bridge is of course brighter, working very well for riffing & rhythm parts. The controls are well set out, with the bridge volume actually closest to the strings to allow for easy tweaking while playing- arguably the pickup which you are most likely to adjust. The addition of a master coil split allows you to get some crystalline single-coil-esque sounds.

Aesthetic Condition:

Headstock: Overall excellent condition. Very light scratching to the front face is visible under direct light & closer scrutiny, as is common with high gloss finishes. Any other markings are difficult to discern.  

Neck: Overall excellent condition. Any markings to the neck and fingerboard are difficult to discern. 

Body: Overall excellent condition. Any markings to the body are difficult to discern. 

Condition of Frets:

The frets demonstrate very light signs of use, not affecting playability. There is considerable material remaining for any fret work the new owner may wish to perform.
