 You are looking at a rarer 2nd generation Electro Voice 623 model dynamic microphone which was manufactured during the 1960's though the 1st gen mic was originally introduced around 1950. The 623 was an entry level dynamic mic that is rugged and has dual Z options. It had a very elegant design with an all metal construction and quality polished chrome finish. This example is one of the nicest I have ever seen and comes with the short cable provided.

 Pic # 2 shows this very model in an old Electro Voice catalog from the 1950's. That 623 model was the 1st generation and has the older lower pistol grip with the smoother rounded curves as where this 2nd gen has the flat faced lower pistol grip with the on / off switch.

 While the 623 can be wired to Hi Z or Lo Z this example is currently wired to Hi Z and will make a great harp mic. It has a very dirty tone that's void of bass. The signal really comes alive when cupped closely in the hand.

 Most of the 623's I come across now no longer work but this one has defied the odds and was very well taken care of. This 623 model has an omni-directional pattern as well picking up a bit more background noise. 

 There are zero dents, scratches or pitting on the body. No chrome loss on the front tip either and everything is tight. No issues. The on / off switch and joint mechanism work just as they should. I'd rate the mic an honest 9 + on a scale of 1 - 10.

 The 623 comes with the short 6 foot cable which to operate and it's in excellent condition being soft, pliable and comes with the old Switchcraft male 1/4 inch end connector that will work with most audio equipment and all guitar amplifiers.

 The mic will screw onto any desk or floor stand you have.
