Hi, I have always admired Fender Custom Shop guitars, sadly though my budget would not allow me to spend that kind of money on them. So....I decided to do the next best thing and combine Fender MIM Roadworn components with USA Fender custom shop upgrades at a reasonable price. Here is a description of the build: Fender 2016 MIM Roadworn body in aged Olympic White, (the body has been additionally cryo-aged to add extra lacquer checking and crazing, and has more of a light banana custard hue to it now due to aging). The neck is a Fender MIM 2008 early Roadworn neck. I like these earlier first edition necks because of their extra relic'ing that Fender quit doing on the later versions. The loaded guard is special..... it has Custom Shop, Celina Garcia, hand-wound 60's pickups with a bevy of Fender branded capacitors and a "real celluloid" tortoise pickguard, (not PVC). These pups are the same type Fender used in their Rory Gallagher Strat and really sing. I have included a G&G Fender "Custom Shop" case and a boatload of very nice case-candy too. The guitar weighs 7lbs-8 ounces on my postal scale and is easy to shoulder. I did this build during the Covid shutdowns a few years ago when prices were a lot more reasonable., if I had to do the same build today, I could not, due to inflation. I am just asking what I have in her in parts. I do these builds as a hobby, but it is time to move some of them to new homes. So, if you do not mind the blending of Fender MIM components along with Fender Custom Shop ones, this may be a good fit for you. You get the look, feel and tone of a Custom Shop for the price if what the MIM ones are selling for now. Maybe you play a lot of gigs and just don't want to expose your beloved Custom Shop to all the road dangers out there? This may be a good alternative to bang around. Anyway, thanks for looking and reading through all of this rather long ad.
