2007 Gibson Custom Shop LPJRDC that when I first saw it looked more like a split-pea soup than anything I've ever seen that's yellow. This is hands up the Best Rock Guitar I've Ever Owned! That's the only way I can think of this one- with one P-90 it has more authority and presence and like this unique distinction of it's voice than any of the other perfectly awesome guitars I can remember playing- and those instruments include many CS Les Paul Standards, Parkers, CS Fenders, ah Ibanez JEM's, ah Strandbergs (my current fav daily driver! (it's just so comfortable!)), etc, etc.
It's the first LPJRDC I've had, so maybe I've just been in the dark this whole time about it, I do know that rock was built on the backs of these, so now you can have one too. Don't worry about me, I'm getting another- I want a beat up one.
This one is real clean- there are a smattering of light indents around the top, nothing that breaks through the finish. Otherwise there are no significant dings to mention. The Dog Ear pickup cover has some string abrasions from a heavy picking hand and close placement to the strings (which I approve of). The frets are good, the truss rod is A-ok perfect with freedom of movement and no threads showing. Frets have been hand polished by me. Pickgaurd replaced with aftermarket pepperoni style because the original custom shop 1 ply version is so boring. Strap button has been professionally moved to upper horn for better balance (which I approve of also lol). The funny thing is- this 4 thousand dollar Custom Shop guitar has been reverted to specs of a USA LPJRDC to make it better! 2007 also predates the booklet COA's too, so don't get all twisted up about that then.
Anways, there you have it. A wicked nice LPJRDC for your consideration.
Have a good one!
