Used late 1970's Aria Pro II T-Top bobbin Alnico-V or AL-V humbucker - Chrome with black bobbins - AlNiCo magnet - 8.25K ohm

I bought this pickup from Japan, not in a guitar, so I can't say for certain what guitar it was removed from, or how old it is, but this pickup looks and sounds exactly like the Aria Pro II Alnico-V or AL-V humbuckers that Aria used on their guitars in 1977, 1978 and 1979, which later became the Extra-II pickups.

In the late 1970's Matsumoku was building guitars for not only Aria (Aria Pro II), but also Epiphone, Greco, Hondo, Vantage, Westbury, Westminster, and Westone to list a few. I have seen T-Top type humbuckers used by Epiphone during this period, and I presume it's possible they were used in some other brands as well during this time.

But I am assuming this is an Aria Pro II Alnico-V or AL-V humbuckers and I'm basing this on my experience with these Aria Pro II humbuckers, the T-Top bobbins, the AlNiCo magnet, the DC resistance, the pole piece spacing, and the baseplate shape and colour - but it's possible (although unlikely) it's something else. You can use your judgement based on the photos and specs.

The cover was removed to show the T-Top bobbin and AlNiCo magnet, along with the maple spacer, and then the cover was resoldered back onto the baseplate.

The DC resistance measures 8.25K ohms.

The lead wire is about 13" long.

The pole spacing is about 47mm.

The pickup is in good player grade shape for its age, with some typical scratches, tarnish, corrosion, and/or rust on the cover and the pole pieces.

If you're looking to add a vintage Japanese made humbucker to your guitar, this will fit right in.
