1990's Yamaha Single Humbucker - Black Bobbins - 8.32K Ohm - Alnico Magnet - Made in Japan MIJ

Used Yamaha (I think) unknown model humbucker - double black bobbin - AlNiCo magnet - Made in Japan MIJ.

I bought this pickup from Japan, not in a Yamaha guitar, so I can't say for certain what guitar it was removed from, or how old it is.

But from what I can find online, the Yamaha Sonare model used these pickups - with the QAXXXXX stamping on the baseplate. This looks like it could be the neck pickup of the early 1990's Sonare SN2, which was known as the "LIVE" GH2 Alnico V humbucker.

The lead wire is a 2 conductor + ground wire, with red, white and bare wires.

The DC resistance measures:

8.32K ohm between the red and bare wire

4.17K ohm between the white and bare wire

4.16K ohm between the white and red wire

The lead wire is about 9.5" long.

The pole spacing is about 50mm.

The pickup is in good player grade shape for its age, with some heavier scratches on the bobbins, and some typical tarnish, corrosion, on the pole pieces.

It doesn't look like it ever had a cover installed on it.

Comes with the pickup ring and pickup mounting screws.
