Up for sale is a 1983 Fender Jazz Bass ‘62 Vintage Reissue, made in Fullerton, California – one of the earliest and most desirable reissue periods in Fender history.

Fender began focusing on high-end vintage reissues in 1982, just one year before this bass was made, laying the foundation for what later became the Custom Shop.

This is technically a Masterbuilt!

These instruments were essentially “pre-Custom Shop” builds, crafted with significantly more attention to vintage accuracy and quality than standard production models.

This is a true Fullerton-era instrument, built before Fender’s production moved, making it highly collectible and increasingly hard to find in this condition.

This bass, particularly in Olympic White, was produced only in a few hundred examples according to available data. That limited production makes it a genuinely rare and highly collectible instrument!
