Subway guitars in Berkeley California has been a Loar dealer for many years.
This mandolin is new old stock. It has never been hanging on the wall in the store. It has been in storage until now and it is in mint condition. We changed the strings, and gave it a good setup. It is playing great with low action and a strong sound.
The matte finish has a nice glow to it. The Sunburst is not black around the edges, more of a very dark reddish brown.
It's not trying to be a Gibson F-5 copy. The neck is a bit bigger than the very skinny bluegrass style necks that are more common. The squared off fingerboard makes it easier to pick, even if it is less traditional.
