Gibson Custom Shop Historic Collection 1957 Les Paul Custom 3-Pickup (LPB3) Black Beauty 2000
The "Historic Collection" by Gibson Custom Shop is a popular series of reissues of historically significant instruments. This time, we have received a 3-pickup 1957 specification "Les Paul Custom" in ebony. It was manufactured in 2000 and weighs 4.13kg.
The all-mahogany body, carved from a single large piece of mahogany, is unique among Les Pauls, and the combination of the midrange tone from the body and the bright-sounding ebony fingerboard creates a unique sound that is characteristic of Custom guitars of this era.
The neck shape is a thick C shape, with a comfortable grip. It features a long tenon neck, just like the original specifications, resulting in exceptional sustain.
The hardware, including the Schaller tuners (which have been changed), is uniformly gold-colored, and this, combined with the ebony body, creates the stunning look known as the "Black Beauty."
All the pickups have been changed; while the original had the standard "57 Classic" humbucker pickups, this one is equipped with three white "Seymour Duncan SH4" pickups. These are the most popular model among Duncan pickups, pushing the amp with their high output and producing many harmonics.
The 3-pickup '57 Les Paul Custom is a rare find, as only a few were produced, and it was manufactured in 2000, a year popular among Gibson Custom Shop enthusiasts. It's been used just enough to give it a nice, aged look while the playability remains excellent. You can change the pickups to your liking, or you can enjoy a full-on hard rock sound as-is. Unusually for a Custom, it weighs only 4.13kg, making it easy to use on stage and highly recommended!
