Vintage and rare 1950's Philips EL-6021 Dynamic Microphone, works, stand & cable

Offering a vintage, rare, and working 1950's Philips EL6021 Dynamic Microphone! Through the 1900's, Philips grew into one of the world's largest electronics firms, with products ranging from kitchen appliances, electric shavers, light bulbs, TV's, cassettes, compact discs (which they invented), and yes...even microphones!  Philips made many different variations of mics in Holland during the 50's and 60's. Many of their early dynamic microphones were made with very high quality, and this EL6021 is no exception. They have a detailed mid-range/high end that respond well with drums, acoustic guitars, etc. So if you've been looking for a microphone that's not too boomy, yet full of character, this is the it!

Although it is sometimes mistakenly claimed to be made in Germany, Philips is actually a Dutch company. The EL 6021 was often used in churches, as the microphone behind the pulpit, but also used handheld by entertainers on stage, although it was actually intended as a quality microphone for tape recorders. These were certainly not meant as studio microphones, but their sound with a lot of mid-tones gives it that vintage quality.

This one, with its original Gray Hammered finish, is in quite nice shape, just a few paint nicks, It responds well with good gain. (Check the voice sample on the listing video.) The pivot joint holds the tilt angle firmly, and includes the proper thread adapter, plus a hardwired 3 foot cable terminating with a male XLR plug and the basic display desk stand. ** Always fair prices, fair shipping, great service!
