Please read entire description: 1950-1953 Fender Telecaster body. This is an authentic 70+ year old early ash Telecaster body with all of the signs of originality, including router “hump” at the neck pocket; spacer (nail) holes (which were filled during old refin process, except the one between the neck pocket and the neck pickup route – see pictures); dowel-pins on the back, and slightly misaligned, flush string ferrules indicative of only early 50’s models. If you’re unfamiliar with the factory misaligned string ferrules phenomenon, message me and I'll provide a link to a website for verification. I recently heat-stripped the beautiful old, faded (in all the right places), checked butterscotch nitro refinish from this body for accurate assessment. There remain slight traces of original finish in a route crevice or two (visible under blacklight) including refin nitro in the routes, and a residual film of white sealer overall. I’ll leave that for the new owner, including treatment (or not) of the filled nail (spacer) holes. There are no signs of sanding on this body. The thickness was dead-on 1.75 before nitro was removed and is a 32nd shy now. The edges are crisp and free of dings and nicks (except for 1 very small edge ding), just a couple of playing-wear rubs on an edge or two that were present and through the finish when I got in, many years ago. There is one mystery screw-hole on the cutaway horn that was there when I got it which is obscured by the pickguard. I did add a sixth and a seventh pickguard hole, as I was fitting the body to all-1959 parts many years ago. Before I added the eighth pickguard hole on the treble side next to the neck pocket I had a moment of clarity having already regretted adding the other two holes, and didn’t do it. Instead, I cut the head off of a screw and glued it in place in the pickguard, so the 5-hole vintage is confirmed in the absence of that pickguard hole. Also, there are slight traces of wood/screw corrosion in the 5 original guard holes, and none in the ones I added. I recently came across a worthy 1959 Custom Telecaster body, and fitted the ’59 neck and parts to that body, which is why this body is available for purchase. If you’re a knowledgeable Telecaster player/collector, this body speaks for itself. Every seasoned collector or aficionado I know agrees with this assessment. It will be shipped quickly and bomb-proof at my expense in the continental US. Foreign shipping will be charged to the buyer. PM for additional pictures including prior to the heat-stripping. Non-smoking, no-pet, senior home.
