This is a classic 24" Slingerland bass drum from a set manufactured around 1978–1979.
Because of its large diameter and deep shell, this drum delivers a huge, powerful canon boom that you can feel in your chest. In the 70s it was their go-to for drummers looking for a massive, Bonham-esque presence. Therefore fans of Led Zeppelin and John Bonham will appreciate the big vintage sound, even though Bonham’s famous bass drums were slightly larger.
I honestly hate parting with this kit, but it’s time to let it go. My hope is that another drummer will enjoy playing this beautiful vintage drum as much as I have. It has a fantastic retro look and a sound that truly speaks for itself.
The drum currently has an Evans batter head that sounds excellent. The Jigsaw resonant head shown in the photos will not be included, but I will install a high-quality black resonant head shown in the other picture from I posted showing the entire kit.
This Slingerland kit has never let me down during live performances, and it was proudly made in the USA (Illinois).
I’m also including the zip-up case. It has some wear and a few rips from years of use, so you may want to replace it with a new case if you want maximum protection for the drum.
