Barely used MTD Super 5 with laurel fretboard. I purchased this bass new in December of 2025. It has new NYXL strings, setup with proper intonation.
This is a great bass with a lot of tonal options. The asymmetrical neck is super smooth and fast, and the compound radius on the fretboard also feels great. The 19 mm string spacing at the bridge leaves enough room for your fingers to make slapping and double thumbing easy, yet the neck narrows enough toward the nut that fretting and string-crossing is fast and easy. It sounds especially great for funk, rock, and metal genres. It can handle ADADG tuning like a champ with the original gauge strings, too.
I really love this bass, but had the (mis)fortune of playing a Dingwall awhile back, so I'm selling to fund one of those.
It is in excellent condition, with only a couple marks. The plastic is still almost completely on the back plates. There is a scratch in the paint on the back near the top neck bolt, about 1/2 inch long. Also, one of the switch nuts has a couple marks from my pliers, as a couple nuts were loose when the bass first arrived. Other than that it is immaculate.
I will ship the guitar double-boxed, with the bass secured in the original MTD box, and plenty of padding around it, via UPS and insured, with signature confirmation.
I'm happy to answer any questions. Thanks for looking.
