Regal LAP STEEL 40's ? - ANTIQUE BROWN SUNBURST Good Condition

Regal lap steel that I'm guessing was made in the 1940's or late 30's. It's hard to get an accurate date of manufacture but if someone on Reverb knows about this one send me a message and I'll add to the description.

This one has been in my closet for 20 years+. I took it out for a little cleanup and I was amazed like I so often am by these older Made in USA instruments.

The finish looks the same over the years I've owned it. I plugged it in to a little Peavey amp and the pickup sounds great. Just what you'd expect from an instrument like this. The pots made no noise, no scratches, just quiet. Like I played it yesterday. Sometime over its life somebody did a very nice job fabricating a metal mounting plate for the input jack. It's sturdy and holds the jack in place solid!

Tuning gears appear original and are solid. They work well and the plastic buttons seem holding strong and no cracks. The original cushioning no skip padding on the back has survived intact.

The very nice vintage brown sunburst finish doesn't look new. You wouldn't want that, would you? It's very. vintage. Check out the binding and multicolored segmented border around the top edge of the body.

Hardly scratched up at all. Got some good shine still. A few very small bumps and with some more cleaning and polish you can bring it all up even better. I didn't take it apart but did only a quick cleaning this afternoon. So it's a really good original vintage piece that plays and sounds really good.
