1950's American Microphone Co Model D22 Dynamic Mic, working w/storage box

Offering a vintage 1950's Model D22 Dynamic Microphone from the American Microphone Company. Located in the heart of Hollywood, they realized that microphones needed to be smaller when used on camera, so as not to block the speaker's face, so they released this slim model D22 as part of their "Full Vision" series. With a very modern design for it's time, this model sports a trim aluminum alloy casing with an attractive gold tone finish, At the back-end of the mic is a unique pivoting mic stand thread mount that can be removed via a thumb screw, in case the user wanted to hold the mic by hand.

     The physical condition is good with just mild signs of use, no dents or scratches, and is hardwired to a short cable with male XLR. Sonically, this  these mics were meant for voice only, so have a rather limited frequency response, midrange dominant with bass roll-off. (Check out the voice sample provided in the listing video.) These also needed more amplification that was typical, so a preamp with lots of gain is recommended.
