Among the loudest of the loud. The Ampeg V-4 is not for the faint of heart. These amps are known for fabulous clean headroom and booming low end. Used by a slew of artists over the years. Most notably the Rolling Stones throughout the 70s and 80s. Josh Homme of Queens Of The Stone age has been quoted as saying he's used a VT-22 (combo version of V-4) since he was 13. Still using on stage and studio. These are fantastic guitar amplifiers but can also double as a bass amp. I've been using them for years as bass amps. Great for rock and heavy music. Having owned a dozen or more of these I can say if you're looking for crunchy overdrive tone the later curved line series with the master volume is the best choice. Cranking the channel volume and using the Ultra high and Midrange boost knob sends this amp into sonic mayhem. With the master volume low you can keep it a little more reasonable volume wise. Still LOUD. The reverb on these amplifiers is also fantastic. Lush and wonderful. Ampeg reverb might not get the amount of press as Fender but Ampeg did it first. The noise floor on this amp is VERY low. Operating at its best. Ready to rock.

From a technical standpoint this amplifier has been fully serviced. Its up to snuff. All the filter capacitors were replaced everything was checked over and replaced if needed. Most the preamp tubes are old stock RCA, GE, Magnavox labled etc. They sound and test well so I see no need to replace that old glass. Power tubes are newer Mesa Boogie 6L6GC which in this case can be used in place of the 7027A it was fitted with originally. Just tested, and test near perfect. Biased properly. Transformers are original.

Cosmetically it shows some signs of use but is in above average condition. Missing back panel.

This can ship anywhere in the world that UPS can reach. Its a HEAVY and difficult ship but I can get it to you safely. I have shipped V4s safely all over the world. Get in touch to confirm shipping cost to your location. It may be less than advertised ocal buyers save $$
