I’ve owned several Gretsch guitars over the years, and this one is a true “Goldilocks” 5120. It started life as an exceptionally good example right from the factory and has since been professionally upgraded into a serious player’s instrument.

The neck profile, fretwork, and overall feel are excellent. The action is low and comfortable with clean response up and down the board. It’s one of the best-playing hollow body Gretsches I’ve owned.

The pairing of TV Jones Classics with the TV Jones wiring harness completely changes this guitar. It delivers the articulate, open Gretsch tone associated with higher-tier models. Clear highs, focused low end, and that unmistakable Gretsch chime. The roller bridge and locking tuners make the Bigsby smooth and dependable, returning to pitch the way it should.

The gold hardware gives it a nice vintage character without feeling overdone.

Condition:

The guitar has been lightly played and is in excellent overall shape.

• Very light cosmetic fret wear in the first position

• No pitting or divots

• Frets have substantial life remaining

• Two small finish rub marks on the top edge of the headstock (pictured)

• No cracks, breaks, or structural issues

• Back of the body and neck are clean with no buckle rash

Gold hardware shows natural, even patina consistent with light use.
