The Gibson Century mandolin was produced along with a matching guitar to commemorate the 1933-34 "Century of Progress" exhibition, also known as the Chicago World's Fair.
This original and highly appointed A style mandolin has a pearloid headstock veneer and fretboard with double and triple diamond inlay in rosewood inserts. The frets are in good condition and play well all up the neck. The top is spruce and the body has tiger maple sides/back. It is in very good condition for it's age with the exception of a crack repaired on the side (see pictures) only showing finish crazing and minor wear. All the binding is intact. It comes with it's original case pictured. Factory order #1138. If you have any questions, please ask.
