Ibanez unveiled the RG Series, and a legend was born. It quickly became the weapon of choice for hard rock and metal players worldwide and recognized as the ultimate metal machine. The Ibanez RG550 features the classic double-cutaway RG design in a basswood body with a fast and playable Super Wizard 5pc Maple/Walnut neck adorned with dot inlays and 24 jumbo frets on an ultra-flat 15.74 radius which allows for maximum velocity soloing and effortless string bending.Electronics include an Ibanez S1 single-coil pickup sandwiched between two humbucking pickups at the bridge and neck for a broad range of tonal options via the 5-way pickup selector. Black hardware, including an Ibanez Edge Locking tremolo bridge with locking nut, gives this guitar extra sizzle.
