Brand new batch, freshly tested. Getting tired of your LFOs and A/R generators? Haven't tried NLC chaos circuits yet? Drift offers something they do not. It has three different algorithms to create non repeating CV modulation plus an LFO mode, also a Texture parameter knob that changes the characteristics of the resulting CV signal! Not to mention a Speed knob and an output attenuator.

Scope pictures show two different algorithms (Perlin and Brownian) with different speed and texture settings. The LED on the module shows you a relative display of the (unipolar 0 to +10v) voltage before attenuation (the ATT knob doesn't affect the LED). You can switch between algorithms by changing dip switches on one of the PCBs - requires removing it from your rack, but you can change the switches without disassembling the module.

Reverb doesn't allow links, but you can see example graphs of all the modes: search up Freemodular Drift and click the Manual link.

This is a DIY build. I have built over 100 eurorack modules from kit or open source designs, so I'm pretty slick with it. I built three of these and selling one. The module for sale has a RED LED but I can change out the LED for Blue or Green, if you donate $10 to a charity of your choice. This is an open source design and the price reflects the price of parts (has a pricey DAC chip and a Nano MCU), the Reverb rake, plus free US shipping and about $30 for my time ordering the PCBs, ordering and sorting the parts, soldering and assembling it, and bringing it to the post office for you. This is not my career.

Comes with a power cable and FREE US shipping because my wife's boyfriend is totally annoyed that I built another batch of these modules.

Here are videos that demo the four modes on a scope and patched into v/o on a triangle VCO:

From Freemodular:

Drift

A modulation source for creating organic, always changing, never repeating control voltages. The main algorithm is based on Perlin noise, but there are three other algorithms to choose from if you want a different flavor.

Power Usage Maximum

  • +5V 25mA
  • +10V 5mA
  • -10V 5mA

Modes

  • Perlin mode is the default algorithm. It is based on the algorithm by Ken Perlin, designed to create very smooth but organic and unpredictable landscapes.
  • Bezier mode - Interpolates between random points using smooth Bezier curves
  • Brownian mode - Brownian motion, or a "random walk," is a type of random motion where a particle moves in a random direction at every step, leading to jittery noise at high frequencies and organic-looking emergent patterns over time.
  • LFO mode - This mode is just a basic triangular LFO
