This is a 2001 Gibson ES-335 Dot, finished in Cherry over a Poplar/Maple body, Mahogany neck and 22 fret beautiful, dark Rosewood fingerboard. Though I found it difficult to photograph, there is a very attractive Flame visible across all aspects of the body. The first photo shows this best.

Hardware is finished in Nickel hardware, including Grover Rotomatic tuners, StopBar tailpiece, an ABR-1 bridge, and a very rare Advanced ABR bow-tie baseplate. A BB2 pickup is fitted at the bridge, whilst the neck is a ‘57 Classic.'

The bindings are aging nicely, and the nickel hardware has patinated over time (you could easily polish this, if you prefer), giving it a timeless look. There are light scratches and marks, commensurate with age and use, and which I’ve tried to capture in the photographs. But overall it is in very good condition for a guitar of this vintage.

The original Gibson case is “roadworn”, being scruffy, but it remains solid. Note however that the combination lock is brocken, but this could be replaced.

In the bridge pickup cavity is written “Paul Townsend” (in pencil). I don’t know for certain the significance of this, however, there are a couple of different British musicians/guitarists of that name, so it could be that this once belonged to one of them.
