This cabinet was built when Ampeg was part of St. Louis Music and was designed to be used either in mono (4 or 16 ohms) or stereo (8 ohms). It also has an output, to use for another extension cabinet.
These were often paired with the Lee Jackson Ampeg VL1002 or VL502 tube heads, or the VH140C stereo solid state head which had chorus and “variable harmonics.”
