Condition
The guitar is in excellent vintage condition for its age. It shows light cosmetic wear from decades of music and careful use, including some light cloudy areas on the sides and hairline scratches, which only add to its story and charm.
The neck is straight, frets still have good life, and it plays comfortably across the fingerboard.
No cracks.
Description
There is something special about vintage Japanese guitars from this era — they were built with care, patience, and a deep respect for classic American designs. This Morris MG-60 is a beautiful example of that philosophy. It has that Gibson J-45 vibe that just looks cool, for a fraction of the price.
Finished in a warm sunburst with elegant split parallelogram inlays and a bold batwing pickguard, this guitar carries a timeless folk and country look that instantly invites you to sit down and play. It feels like an instrument made for songs — the kind you write late at night, or the ones you play while the room is quiet and the lights are low. I love playing this guitar, with some Eagles songs, it just matches the vibes for me.
Important Note
This guitar had been in storage for a long time before I acquired it, and I have not had it inspected by a luthier.
I own and play many vintage guitars, and although these Made in Japan guitars are built like tanks, I strongly recommend having it professionally checked after purchase. This is roughly a 55-year-old guitar, and I want to set proper expectations so your experience will be great.
The specifications listed are based on online sources, so you may wish to cross-check them. Many of the guitars I sell are rare, and reliable information can sometimes be difficult to find.
I can confidently say this guitar sounds great. I can also provide a sound and playability video to serious buyers upon request. I plan to upload demo videos to YouTube in the future, but due to my busy schedule, I currently provide videos directly to interested buyers.
My goal is for you to receive the guitar with no surprises. I would rather not sell a guitar than receive a bad review — integrity is very important to me. Please feel free to ask any questions before buying, and examine the photos carefully. I use a professional-grade camera so you can see the guitar clearly. If you would like photos from specific angles, don’t hesitate to ask. I will respond as quickly as possible.
I am open to reasonable offers, so feel free to message me.
Shipping
I ship using EMS (Japan Post), which I find to be the most reliable option. It costs more, but nothing beats peace of mind. I charge a flat rate of 27,000 yen for shipping and handling to some areas.
Shipping to the US has been challenging recently, but my previous US buyers have been happy with their transactions. If you are located in the US, please feel free to message me with any questions.
I pack guitars very securely using sturdy, specialized guitar shipping boxes, which is why shipping may seem expensive.
A FULL REFUND is guaranteed in accordance with Reverb’s shipping policies if your guitar does not arrive or is damaged during delivery. Please review Reverb’s shipping policies for full details.
Ships within 3–7 business days.
If payment is made on a weekend, the guitar will ship on Monday.
