This Guitar:

Weight: 7 lb 5.1 oz

Serial Number: 313089

This guitar is very good vintage condition. It was made in Fullerton, California. The neck heel is stamped June 1971. This guitar is a very rare late model 4 bolt Stratocaster, built during a transitional period in Fender's history. It is much more common in this era to find a Stratocaster with a 3 bolt neck with a micro-tilt adjustment and the "bullet truss rod" adjustment at the headstock. The new design was part of CBS attempt at creating efficiencies that equaled cost saving. However, this new design resulted in poorer sustain and sometimes the neck would shift in the pocket mid-performance! This rare guitar was made using the same manufacturing techniques as was used during Fender's Golden Era.

This guitar is in very good vintage condition. The body and neck are from different guitars. The body was produced between late 1969 and early 1971 based on the black sunburst paint extending below the neck plate and the fact that this model is a 4 bolt body. The neck heel is stamped June 1971. There is a large dent on the front of the body below the bridge. There are small scratches and paint chips all over, with a larger paint chip near the output jack and one on the back of the body near the neck plate. The potentiometers have been replaced with DiMarzio branded pots dating to May 1982. The pickguard has an extra hole drilled into it near the pickup selector. There is wear on the dot inlays and the 21st fret inlay is missing. The neck has some scratches and paint chips on it.

Includes original hardshell case in very good vintage condition. The initials G.C. are written inside the case with permanent marker.
