In 1988, Burny released the RSG-60 '63 model in their Revival series - which was their 1963 SG Standard model - similar to the original Gibson SG Standard. This was the first time they added black and white to their standard colours for an RSG model (although they were available to order prior to this). After 1988, black and white because a standard colour for the RSG model.

Since there is serial number on this guitar (which is to be expected for this era from Burny) and since the original 500K pots have no date codes on them, I don't know for certain that this is a 1988 RSG-60 '63. It could be an earlier RSG-75 '63 from 1986-87, buy likely not earlier than that. But non broken pineapple headstock inlay dates this one to 1988 or earlier since.

Burny had Fujigen and Dyna Gakki making their SG models during this time. They are very similar, but there are some differences - you can tell them apart by the control cavity & pickup cavity routes. This one is a Dyan Gakki built.

The finish on this guitar is called White (CH colour code) and it has faded to a handsome cream all over the guitar. Under the pickguard, pickup rings, bridge, tailpiece, etc... it's still much whiter. It looks great!

The inlays on this model - and most of the Burny's from this era - in my opinion are the nicest and closest to vintage Gibson inlays in their shape and material. They have the celluloid look, and not the plastic pearloid look, with sharp points on the tops of the inlays. These ones a little more yellow too, matching the overall aesthetic of the rest of the guitar.

Except for a new pair of Gotoh nickel strap buttons, the 4 pickup mounting ring screws on the bridge pickup (from my parts bin and should be the same as original), and possibly the 2 screws and springs mounting the bridge humbucker (they don't match the neck pickup perfectly), everything on this guitar appears to be original, and this guitar is in very good player grade condition. It's been played, but it has only minor dings and chips in the finish - it has not been abused.

Like most vintage guitars, there are a few dings, dents, scratches, and chips all over this guitar, but since it's white, it hides most of the small scratches/swirling really well - and to me that just adds to the mojo. This is no Murphy lab - it's the real deal.

This Burny is made with a mahogany neck mated to a mahogany body. Although impossibly to know through the solid white finish, this one appears to be a 2 piece body mated to a 1 piece neck.

The neck itself has a nice and thick carve - for an SG, it has a substantial carve to it, and fills out the hand - it's really comfortable to play. This is closer to a Gibson Custom Shop SG than a '61 SG USA Standard. This one also features a incredibly beautiful rosewood fretboard that has a lovely grain all the way up the board.

Although it has been played, there is almost no play wear across the 22 medium jumbo - the frets still have lots of life left in them and the guitar plays great all the way up the fretboard.

The Original nickel covered VH-3 pickups sound fantastic - they can cover almost any genre well. They can clean up when you roll off the volume, but can easily push your amp into break up. The VH-3's are one of the many great sounding PAF or modern PAF style pickups to come out of Japan in that era.

The plastics are all in tact, and in good shape too, with some typical pick marks on the pickguard & pickup rings, and typical swirling on all of the plastics.

All the guitars I sell, I test, thoroughly clean, and setup completely before I list them. Anything that is missing, damaged, or non original is mentioned in the listing.

I setup all my Gibson style guitars to Gibson factory specs - including neck relief, action, pickup height, intonation, and tailpiece height. So this guitar will be ready to play out of the box (after you tune it up - I ship my guitars with the strings loosened).

Overall, this is classic SG that looks as good as it sounds, is built well, and plays great.

Weather you're a player, or collector, you'll want this Burny RSG-60 '63 in your collection today.

CONDITION ------------

Overall it's in very good player grade shape.

I've tried to capture all of the flaws in the photos and in the description.

The strap buttons, bridge pickup ring screws, and bridge pickup mounting screws are not original

Over the entire body of the guitar, top, back, sides, neck and headstock, there are some minor dings, dents, scratches, chips, and swirling, mostly around the lower and bottom sides of the body.

The white paint has faded to a darker cream all over, and there is a line on the back of the neck, likely where it sat in a guitar stand.

The black paint on the headstock has some minor swirling & scratches.

All of the black plastics have typical scratches and swirling on them.

The nickel hardware, bridge, tailpiece, pickup covers and pole pieces, nickel tuners, and hardware all have some form of corrosion, pitting, scratches, and rust, although they all have a nice and consistent patina to them, and have all faded to a dull grey - it looks great.

All of the unbranded Kluson style tuners are straight and work properly.

Around the strap buttons there's some minor strap marks/swirling.

The frets have been played, but not much, so there's lots of life left in these frets.

There no signs of a headstock, heel or any other repair.

The truss rod works as expected with room in both directions.
