This F. Barbier Bb wood clarinet is a Selmer-associated French instrument dating to the late 1930s through early 1950s. F. Barbier was originally an independent French clarinet maker whose brand was later acquired by Selmer Paris and used as an intermediate to advanced line, positioned below full Selmer Paris professional models.
The bell on this clarinet is stamped Selmer beneath the F. Barbier logo, confirming its production during the Selmer-associated period. This example represents one of the better F. Barbier clarinets we have encountered, both in condition and overall playing quality.
