Suhr Dark Discovery Analog Delay

The Suhr Discovery Analog Delay is Kevin Suhr's all-analog answer to modern delay design — the first pedal of its kind from Suhr, built to capture the warmth of classic analog delay units while giving players the deep, modern control that vintage designs never offered. At its core sit four reissued MN3005 Bucket Brigade chips running a true analog signal path, giving the Discovery the rich, organic decay analog delay is known for, but with the shaping tools to sculpt that tone into almost anything — all savable across 127 onboard presets.

Dialing in tempo and tone is fast and intuitive: an intelligent tap-tempo function averages your last four taps to lock in precise timing, while instant preset recall via bypass and tap-tempo switching lets you jump between saved sounds mid-set. The Filter section's Lo-Cut and Hi-Cut knobs let you carve exactly where the repeats sit in your mix, from thick, full-bodied delay trails to bright, clipped dub-style echoes, and the Modulation control adds vintage-style warble and flutter, lush chorus-like movement, or classic Leslie-style pitch shift — switchable between triangle, sine, and square waveforms for even finer control over the character of the modulation.

For players who want to push further, every knob on the Discovery can be mapped to an external expression pedal with its own custom sweep, and mappings can be saved per preset — opening the door to tape-ramp delay-time tricks, swelling freeze/regen textures, and fully hands-free tone shaping on stage. Full 5-pin MIDI in/out/thru rounds it out, with support for preset switching and Program Change messages that let the Discovery slot straight into a MIDI rig, DAW-based studio setup, or full pedalboard control system.
