1997 PRS Custom 22 1A beautiful, original 1997 Paul Reed Smith Custom 22 10 Top, finished in Tobacco Sunburst, with bird inlays, original Dragon pickups and PRS tremolo.
I purchased this guitar new from Machinehead Music in Hitchin in the summer of 1997 and have owned it ever since. It has been carefully looked after throughout its life and remains in superb condition for an instrument approaching 30 years old.
The figured maple 10 Top is particularly attractive, with a rich Tobacco Sunburst finish that really shows off the grain. The guitar has a mahogany body and set mahogany neck, with a 22-fret Indian rosewood fingerboard featuring abalone bird inlays.
Original specification includes:
- PRS 10 Top figured maple top
- Mahogany body and one-piece mahogany neck
- Rosewood fingerboard with abalone bird inlays
- Original PRS Dragon Bass and Dragon Treble humbuckers
- Five-way rotary pickup selector
- PRS tremolo bridge
- Gold PRS signature headstock logo
- Serial number: 7 30089 / 10
- Original PRS hard case and tremolo arm
Condition:
The guitar is in excellent overall condition, with no modifications or repairs. The only notable imperfection is a very small chip to the finish on the back of the body, which is clearly shown in the photographs.
Everything is original, including the pickups, electronics and hardware.
Provenance:
Purchased new in 1997 from Machinehead Music, Hitchin. One private owner from new.
Supplied with its original black PRS hard case, with black plush interior, and original tremolo arm.
Collection and delivery:
Collection is welcome from Hitchin, Hertfordshire.
Fully insured UK delivery can also be arranged. The guitar will be securely packed in its original hard case inside a protective outer guitar shipping carton, and dispatched using a tracked courier with specialist musical instrument insurance.
