This is the best sounding and playing Tele we've had in in ages. Great neck, frets, rod, LOW action and issue free. Neck dates are clear at Jun 69, 284xxx serial. Minor changes as expected - The original guard self destructed as they all do. We cleaned the nut, lubed the rod and works perfect in both directions. The frets were also fully cleaned. The guard is an older reproduction and looks the part. The pots were also swapped for a 1980 and 1974 unit. Whoever changed the pots used garbage wire in the process. We just can't have that. We rewired the cavities with proper vintage spec cloth wire. The pickup is stock and looks untouched. After we did all the work, we then brought it to our Master Luthier, Matt Brewster at 30th St Guitars in NYC for a once over and has a complete clean bill of health. SO other than the guard, pots and control cavity wiring, she's 100%. The case is a tweed hard shell. The bass does play great, sounds the part and can and should be used with 100% confidence. Heck, she still has the original covers!
