The Paiste 2002 Sound Edge 14" Hi-Hat Set delivers the legendary sound that has powered decades of rock and classic recordings. These iconic hi-hats are crafted from Paiste's signature 2002 bronze alloy, renowned for its brilliant, glassy shimmer and powerful projection. The unique sound-edge (rippled) bottom cymbal creates the distinctive, crisp "chick" sound and enhanced air response that cuts through any mix, while the medium-weight top cymbal provides a balanced, responsive feel under sticks. Together, they produce everything from tight, articulate closed sounds to explosive, sloshy open hats.
This set shows the expected play wear of a professionally used instrument, including natural patina, but their legendary sonic character remains fully intact. The sound-edge function is flawless, and the cymbals respond with the musicality and presence that have made them a studio and stage standard.
