This set started life as a custom spec build commissioned right before the lockdowns, and it hits that sweet spot between true vintage character and modern punch.

If you know your history, you’ll appreciate the nod to the earliest humbuckers. Dual slug rows, no screws, just pure magnetic honesty. I took that blueprint and added my own flavor:

• Short mounting legs for easier fitting.
• Lightly scuffed black bobbins that live perfectly between “fresh off the bench” and “road-worn relic”
• Moderate wax potting so you get the openness of vintage unpotted coils without the squeal

🎸 How do they sound?

Think ’59 Model clarity with a more even EQ, or a Seth Lover set that’s got something to prove. Articulate, dynamic, and punchy, but still dripping with the harmonic richness you want from a true PAF-style wind.

Seymour Duncan's humbucker molds are made by the same company that made the original PAF bobbin. Seymour Duncan has amassed over 12 grades of magnets and a stack of wire gauges all the way from 45 to 20 gauge. Seymour Duncan's insulations include poly, heavy poly, plain enamel and heavy Formvar. Seymour Duncan has hundreds of flatwork options, including bone grey which was used in their Antiquity series. Seymour Duncan has spent decades perfecting how to combine these materials to make a tone that matches the one you dream about.

It is not uncommon for Seymour Duncan bobbins to have hairline cracks between the poles and/or screws. The company has been acknowledging this for over 15 years as " "spider legs." They're gas lines that are part of the injection molding process and they're not structural." If you do not see any in the photos, I can check the specific item to confirm and/or send more photos of the item.
