Vintage Silvertone 1448 Electric Guitar w/ Original Case Amp 1963–1964 Black Sparkle
One of the most iconic beginner guitars ever produced, this 1963–1964 Silvertone 1448 comes complete with its original amplifier-in-case, making it a fantastic collector's piece and an instantly recognizable piece of American guitar history. Manufactured for Sears by Danelectro, the 1448 has become highly sought after for its unique design, vintage tone, and undeniable retro appeal.
Finished in the classic Black Sparkle, this model features the original lipstick single-coil pickup, masonite body construction, and bolt-on poplar neck that helped create the unmistakable jangly tone heard on countless vintage recordings. The included case houses the original built-in tube amplifier, allowing the guitar to be plugged directly into the case just as it was sold in the early 1960s.
This guitar has been tested and plays well. The neck is straight, frets have normal vintage wear, and the electronics function properly. The original case amplifier is included. (If you have tested the amp, state that it works. If untested, simply note that the amp is untested.) The guitar shows honest vintage wear including scratches, finish wear, dings, edge wear, oxidation on hardware, and other cosmetic signs consistent with a 60-year-old instrument.
Complete examples with the original amp case have become increasingly collectible and make an outstanding addition to any vintage guitar collection.
