FEEL FREE TO REACH OUT TO DRAGGIN' GUITARS in Lawrence KS with ANY questions, or to just chat about the guitar.

This vintage Gibson L6-S Custom model was made in 1976 at the original Gibson factory in Kalamazoo Michigan, U.S.A.  It has the 3-piece maple body with 3-piece maple neck and a set-neck construction.  The guitar is solid and plays and sounds great.  The big news is that Tiger-Stripe pickguard! So hot.

The guitar has a nice slim body with familiar Gibson cutaway profile.  The maple body has a woodgrain that is nicely defined and has  lots of interesting patterns.  The clear coat finish is in very good condition and has a nice vintage shine.  The pickguard is aftermarket and looks killer.  The original black pickguard is included (added mini-toggle hole) along with a repro-if you like the stock look.

The neck joint is solid and the guitar has a great neck angle.  The truss rod functions smoothly.  The neck is straight and very smooth.  The neck profile is a comfortable slim style. The neck depth measures .822" at the 1st fret and .976" at the 12th fret.  The nut measures 1.60" wide.  The original tuners all function well and the guitar stays in tune excellent.  The headstock and logo display excellent.  The fingerboard has 2 spots that exhibit some sort of rub wear-see photos.  The frets are in very good condition and have a tall profile-see photos. The action is low for an easy playing experience.  The string height is currently .010" at the 1st fret and .040" at the 12th fret.   The guitar plays nicely up and down the fingerboard with no buzz.  It is a double octave fingerboard so you can get really creative and have lots of extra notes if you need that.

The pickups are aftermarket  PAF-style humbuckers  and they both have a good strong signal-the neck measures 10.07 ohms and the bridge position measures 14.26 ohms.  The electronics all appear to be new and the wiring was done nicely.  The rotary switch selects pickup combinations in the following configuration: neck-neck/bridge-bridge-neck mod-bridge mod.  I believe the mod modes are some sort of coil tap.  The 3 potentiometers are volume, bass and treble.  The bridge is the original harmonica piece and the stop tailpiece is clean and functional as well.

The guitar is pretty lightweight and very comfortable to play.   Comes with a soft case.  I also have an aftermarket  hardcase that is available for additional cost-just send me a message.
