LOMO 19a33 (1981, 810010) - Soviet Dual-Capsule Microphone

This 1981 LOMO 19A33 is one of only a handful known to exist and comes as a complete original set. It comes directly from Russian Recording’s working mic locker, where it has been used on countless records and meticulously maintained for peak studio performance.

The LOMO 19A33 is one of the most obscure Soviet microphones ever produced. Built in 1981, this is one of only a few confirmed working examples. In over two decades of collecting and researching Soviet microphones, we have encountered only two functioning units: this 19A33 and a nearly identical 1980 CKBK version, both listed separately.

Developed for film, stage, and ensemble recording applications, these microphones were manufactured in extremely small quantities, likely only a few dozen. Each uses two proprietary 20 mm capsules mounted several inches apart and angled roughly 120 degrees from one another. The included power supply and remote allow electronic steering of the pickup along the horizontal axis up to 120 degrees in either direction, for a total of 240 degrees. Centering the control blends both capsules for conventional mono use.

This design was likely intended for stage tracking or for pairing two microphones to create adjustable stereo width and direction. Build quality is excellent, and the sound is detailed, dimensional, and lifelike.

The headbasket is difficult to remove, so capsule photos are shown for only one of the two units. Internal PSU and remote photos are also of one example, but both are identical internally. Both microphones and their respective PSUs have been extensively tested and are guaranteed to be fully operational.

This 19A33 includes its original 220 V PSU and remote controller, all original cabling, and the rare factory LOMO shockmount clip. A step-up transformer is required for 120 V use; we can recommend an affordable model.

These are vintage microphones, typically between 30 and 80 years old. Although serviced and tested for full functionality, all vintage equipment will eventually require maintenance.
