This is an amazing 1969 Gibson Les Paul Custom. One piece old growth slab body, two piece center seam top. 1969 original untouched wiring harness. Guitar appears to have been necked with a 71’ neck and refinished at the factory from ebony to a early 70’s correct cherry stain with nitro gloss as seen on es335’s of the time.
Weight:
This guitar is light weight as just over 9lbs.
Modifications:
We took this guitar apart for inspection and found a long neck tenon small volute as used on the 1971 era Les Paul Customs. This guitar to our inspection appears to have been re necked and refinished by Gibson 71-72.
Finish inside cavities is tidy and the original Ebony. Finish on the body is correct for the cherry rubbed style finish on late 60’-early70’s es335 guitars. Original binding in the guitar is intact. Original wiring harness and plastics are correct. A small later added mini switch was at some time removed, and its hole plugged and touched up at a later date in the guitars life. This is cleanly done but visible in photos.
Original pat. sticker pickups are installed and sound fantastic. We believe the tailpiece and bridge to be original. We believe the knobs to be later reissues.
Includes OHSC
playability: this guitar plays fast, and sounds exceptional.
