1997 Gibson Les Paul R8 Mary Ford Custom Shop Edition 8 7289
1997 Gibson Custom Shop 1958 Les Paul Reissue "Mary Ford" Goldtop - Limited Edition of 50
Serial Number: 8 7289
This is a 1997 Gibson Custom Shop 1958 Les Paul Reissue (R8) "Mary Ford" Edition, part of an extremely limited run of only 50 instruments ever produced.
Mary Ford, the pioneering guitarist and partner to Les Paul, was instrumental in popularizing the Les Paul model during the 1950s. This guitar is a stunning recreation of a one-of-a-kind 1958 Goldtop custom-ordered for her, bridging the gap between the classic Goldtop and the soon-to-be-released 'Burst' models.
The instrument is in great conditions, with little amount of honest playwear to the Gold Top finish or the back with its Vintage Cherry Back. It has a couple Unique Aesthetics, with two custom made Floral Pickguards: the distinctive cream and gold floral pickguard, styled after Mary Ford's Gibson ES-295 and its Matching Armrest. The fret life is excellent, and it has just received a professional setup.
Neck Profile: Features the historically accurate '58 C-Profile (often referred to as the "baseball bat" neck), known for its substantial, comfortable vintage feel that contributes significantly to the guitar's massive tone and sustain.
Pickups: Equipped with a pair of Gibson '57 Classic Humbuckers (The standard for the '90s Historic Reissues), delivering that unmistakable, warm, and articulate PAF voice.
Construction: Solid Mahogany body with a carved Maple top (non-weight relieved).
Fingerboard: Indian Rosewood with Trapezoid Mother-of-Pearl inlays.
Hardware: ABR-1 Tune-o-matic bridge and Stopbar tailpiece, Vintage Style Kluson 'Deluxe' tuners.
Includes: Original Gibson Brown 90s case.
