Straight out of the Norlin-era vaults, this 1981 Gibson Acoustic Series Pre-Owner’s Manual set is as vintage as it gets — printed in Nashville, Tennessee back when flared jeans were still socially acceptable and the Hummingbird ruled every porch jam.
Each card features a different acoustic model — Heritage, J-200, Dove, Hummingbird, J-55, F-5L, and even the Chet Atkins CE Model. Clean black-and-white illustrations, factory specs, and a minimalist “NOTES” page that probably saw more doodles than actual notes.
These weren’t mass-marketed to the public — they came tucked into cases of new Gibsons, meant for first owners only. Complete sets are rare to find this crisp.
Condition: Excellent, light age toning, no tears.
